Today was full of photos. First I had an amazing breakfast with Margaret, then I hit up a hilarious hot dog eating contest (Both of my friends who entered did not win -- I think this is a good thing). and then fireworks and back to First Avenue for The Hold Steady (above). I have to admit, I don't really like The Hold Steady.Now, now, calm down. I just can't get into his voice and that whole talking thing he does. But even *I* can admit that they put on one hell of a show last night at First Ave. And look at his face. The boys seemed pretty happy to be playing for the home town crowd. On a side note, I found Mr. Finn to be very endearing while performing. It is clear that he does NOT practice in front of the mirror (take note, Rhett Miller) and he just lets his inner dork out with all the dancing on stage. It's kinda charming. It is very doubtful that I will have any internet service, so I'll post my week's worth of photos when I return -- I promise.
