daytrotter
Hello from Texas! We landed late this afternoon and headed from the hotel, to get our credentials, to the Daytrotter studios. If you have never checked out their site, you are seriously missing out. Go there. Now. Thank me later.Anyway, they are recording a bunch of sessions down here in Austin, and we stopped by for the Drive By Truckers. The tricky part about this session was that if I was in the room with the band while they were recording, I couldn't hear the music well. And if I was in the room with the soundboard I could hear the music, but couldn't shoot the band. So I opted to hear the music. Which sounded great, and resulted in this photo. Then I shot a few images of the band doing interviews afterward. It was a perfect, mellow way to start the week. You can see more photos of my day here. Also? I got to meet the guys behind Better Than the Van. I love the idea behind that site and what those guys are doing, and they were fun to hang out with as well. So all in all, a perfect start to the trip.Oh! And lastly, we stopped by The Parish to hear The Bright Light Social Hour. And yeah, the bassist's shirt says what you think it says.
