For the second year in a row, I attended The Depot's Diamond Dog eating contest to cheer on a friend in this disgusting act of gluttony. Don't get me wrong, it's funny as hell to watch. But man, I was gonna have hot dogs for dinner, and that plan got scratched quick. Just be glad these photos aren't scratch and sniff because the smell of all those bacon wrapped hot dogs at once was entirely too much to handle.Anyway, my buddy Pat came in last, only eating two hot dogs. But don't get too down on him -- they are 1/4 pound dogs wrapped in bacon and served in a pretzel bun. It's the salt that slows you down, I hear.The winner, a Mr. Eric Dahl (pictured above), downed between 9.5 & 10 of these in 10 minutes (hard to tell as he was still chewing his last bite when the timer went off).
