While Jamie, Memphis and I hang out at the dock all day, Merlin prefers to nap and keep watch from the front porch up above the lake. I think it's his herding instinct, but he can protect the cabin entrance this way, as well as watch all of us corralled down by the water. And there's a fantastic breeze up here (as you can see from his fur).
