Jamie and I decided to take a road trip down to Pepin, Wisconsin tonight for dinner. We normally head down here to eat at the Harbor View Cafe, but we wanted something more casual so we tried a new spot called Third Street Deli. And it was fantastic!They cook wood-fired pizzas in an outside oven, and we sat at the bar and had an amazingly delicious dinner during dusk. We started with a salad that had pear, blue cheese, walnuts and craisins. And man, it was sooo good. And then the pizza! We split two of them, a margharita and a white sauce pizza with Parmesan, basil, garlic and spinach -- wow, so tasty.And after dinner? We wandered down the block to a cafe for homemade strawberry pie. Yeah, it was a pretty awesome date night.Then, on the way home, I hit a raccoon with Jamie's new car. I have never hit an animal before (crunch) but in my defense, there were three of them running out in the road and I avoided two ... And secondly, I just felt awful for, um, getting death on Jamie's brand new car. That was pretty awful.But back to the good side of the day -- this meal was phenomenal and I want to take all of my friends there in the fall so we can eat delicious pizza and sit by a fire outside gazing at the stars.
