saffron

Tonight I had my monthly dinner with Nyberg, and instead of trying out a new restaurant (like we normally do) we returned to one of our very favorites, Saffron. This place never ceases to amaze me with its delicious food and fabulous service. We shared a Tangine fish stew for dinner and then sipped on Turkish coffee afterward. And then things got magical. No really, they did.It was at this point that Saed, who runs the place with his chef brother, said he would read our coffee grounds and tell us our future (as you can see him doing above). I told you it was the best service ever. Amazing food and a fortune at the end? SIGN ME UP. And you know what? The stuff he told us was spot on. Not like fortune cookie "your hard work will pay off" lameness, but more like references to the recent death in my family and the burgeoning relationship that my mother-in-law and I have formed. And as spot on as MY fortune was, Nyberg's was even better. Now, I can't guarantee that he will read all of your coffees should you make the brilliant decision to dine at this fine establishment. But if you play your cards right? You might get lucky. Oh, and order the slow cooked green beans as an appetizer. Amazing.
