Tonight was the first Spoon show of the weekend. First Ave is hosting them both Friday and Saturday night as part of the club's 40th anniversary weekend. In my mind, First Ave has been around since about 1863, so 40 years seems quite young. But still, happy happy birthday, second home of mine.As for the Spoon show, it was pretty great -- much better than their 2007 show (and excellent job whomever was behind the light show). Tonight was 21+, and I am so glad I had tickets for this one. Tomorrow is the all ages show, and in typical crumudgeonly fashion, I hate those shows. Those youngins have zero concert etiquette -- too much pushing and shoving and my oh my do they love to get too drunk too fast and puke. And yes, I am old and grumpy.I have a bunch more photos (also of Deerhunter, who opened), but I can barely keep my eyes open as we had a party to attend after the show and it's super late now.
