Say hello to the lovely Dessa. Y'all have seen her around here a few times from the Doomtree concerts. And occasionally, when I photograph something abstract from a vita.mn cover shoot that I can't really share with you for fear of giving away any top secret work information (but that I'm always dying to share with you anyway), she's hidden or blurry in the background.But today she's front and center. Today Dessa has a new album out, and she was signing CDs and giving away candy and such over at the Fetus, so I stopped by to show some support. I like this lady a lot, not just because she makes good music, but because she is always busting her ass, and she sometimes works with kids, teaching them how to express themselves through music instead of sex or violence (which is pretty great). And did I mention she's wicked smart and funny?And ya know what else? I've never seen a bad photo of her either.There are a few tickets left for her show on Oct. 28 at the Fitz, and if you're even toying with the idea, you better snatch 'em up quick. I'm gonna be out of town, but it sounds like it should be something amazing to see (and hear).
