This is Ted Leo! He was a guest at Wits tonight along with Wyatt Cenak (who you probably know from his work on The Daily Show). Ted Leo holds a special place in my heart a) because he plays his music with such complete focus and attitude and I love seeing him live, and b) because he was the first show that Jamie and I saw after moving to Minneapolis.Since we had come from Miami, we were a touch naive heading down to our first foray into First Ave's 7th Street Entry. The two most important lessons we learned at that show were 1) Minnesotans are WAY taller than Floridians (or Cubans) and that if we wanted to actually see the show, we should have arrived earlier (and we're tall, yo!) and 2) When attending a show in February in Minnesota, you DO NOT leave your coat in the car and just walk two blocks to the club. There is coat check or the floor or whatever, but going without a coat is an absolutely terrible idea. Oh, and 3) Of course Ted Leo killed it and we should go to more of his shows. And here we are today arriving at shows early, bringing jackets/scarfs along to the club and seeing Mr. Leo yet again. See how we learn?
