another classic

So have you figured me out yet? I do have a thing for classic cars. You know what I would love to have? Either a late-60s mustang fastback (vroom!) or a VW bus with a camper and all that cool stuff inside. It would be so fun to haul friends to the drive-in in that, eh? But I stumbled upon this Dodge tonight on my way home from work and I loved the blue color and the classic lines. I prefer cars from the 60s/70s, but the detailing on these 50s models is pretty awesome (particularly the taillights). But back to the rest of my day. After racing home from a ridiculously long day at work (and spying this car to shoot), Jamie and I headed down to the Aster for Name That Tune with a large table full of friends. Now, you can imagine that most of my best friends are a) people I have met at concerts and b) music lovers of all kinds. But let me also mention that neither of those two qualifiers means someone will be good at Name That Tune. For instance, I totally and completely SUCK at it. I did correctly guess Dolly Parton's "Jolene," but man, I didn't get a single song right out of the Prince category -- and I'm a huge fan! (That said, could they not have chosen ONE song from Purple Rain? Seriously?)But despite my (and Jamie's) lack of talent in this particular arena, my real skillset shone through in my ability to recruit teammates. Because my buddy Pat KILLED IT at this game, and we came in second (hooray!). And we had a ton of laughs and a great time. Win-win situation, I tell you. And? I let Pat keep the prize with the promise that he would be on my team again in the future. I am a (competitive) genius.
