baby's got a brand new bag

I'm kindof a pain to travel with. I mean, I'm super fun to travel with in that a) I love adventure b) I'm totally willing to try new things (that don't involve scary heights or spiders) and c) I like to keep my days easy going and not plan every minute out. Oh! And d) I'm always willing to learn a few phrases of any language (hence my current battle with Czech). But I'm more of a pain to travel with a) because I may or may not misplace my boarding pass two or three times before reaching the gate b) I like to play pinball in airports and have had my name called over airport intercoms more than once because I needed to stop playing and get on the plane already and c) I HAVE A LOT OF GEARI'm sorry, but I'm just not going to check my laptop or my camera or my many lenses. I'm going to carry all it on board with me. And that stuff takes up a ton of space! So I've been on a mission to find a good backpack that will fit all my camera gear, my laptop plus a few personal items so that when I go on big trips I can just grab one bag. Also? It had to be a backpack because (in case I haven't mentioned) my shoulders and neck are in pretty rough shape. So this is the bag I got! Isn't it lovely?! It's beautiful charcoal grey, and I think I'm going to spray it down with some sort of water-resistant chemical stuff before we leave. It fits EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF MY CAMERA GEAR plus my laptop and there's still more room! I am so happy! Anyway, it arrived yesterday when I was at the wedding, but I was too tired to open the box last nightSo this was the excitement of the day that I decided to show you. You know, instead of the hardware store, me catching up with email, my now broken iPhone (not cracked, just stopped working), Trader Joe's or me watching hours and hours of bad television. Television like Grimm. See? I don't mess around when I need brain candy. I go straight to the trash. And I love it.
