casting off

First night at the lake! Mom and Dad met us up here, and after dinner Dad thought he'd try his hand at fishing off the dock. About the third cast in, he caught a bass! I loved this photo of him reeling it in because of the gorgeous sunset in the background.Memphis is so happy up here, you guys! Today she took a short swim without the life vest, and then we put on the life vest and played fetch for a good, long while. Man, she was thrilled.We didn't get up here until about 5 pm, so I'm not sure this counts as our "first day" at the cabin, but it is amazing how much my body decompresses at the smell of the pines and the sounds of the loons. This week is gonna be good.
