it's all about the food

So that? That was my lunch. Yum.Today was... how shall I say... LAZY. We woke up around 11 am after going to bed at midnight. So as I type this, I have not even been awake for twelve hours, and it is a glorious thing my friends. By 2 pm, we had walked five blocks and been seated for lunch with iced coffees. To say we were moving at a leisurly pace today is an understatement, but since we have more than three full days here, it feels so much more luxurious than our other stops.After lunch we decided to walk down to the large market in town and check it out. It was a little further than we thought it would be, but that was fine because we just stopped into shops and bought a few souvenirs and took our time. But before we knew it, we were getting back to the apartment and it was after 5 pm, so there was no trip over to the Buda side today. We'll have to get that in tomorrow, which should be doable since the chance of rain has now moved from 100% to 40%. But we might have to set an alarm clock. For 10 am.Something that is interesting to us is the varied price of food and hotels here. For instance, last night we had a beer, a glass of wine, a bottle of sparkling water, Jamie's chicken entree (which was enormous), my soup (which equals 3 bowls) and my salad. Our bill was about $26. This morning we stopped for breakfast and had two sandwhiches, two iced coffees and one slice of cake. Our bill was $60. That is quite a difference. Especially considering when it comes to atmosphere and location, I would consider them equals -- if not the cheaper joint with the better, more interesting decor.Another example is that we are renting a two bedroom apartment that could EASILY sleep six, and probably up to eight if you utilized the couches. It has a full, modern kitchen, french doors, 15-foot ceilings and parquet wood floors. It is very clean and in the very middle of everything. It is $55 a night. I will admit, it has the ugliest bathroom tile known to man -- but that is the only real downfall. We were pricing hotels today, and rooms at the Best Western, a location not as central as ours, runs $120 Euros a night (which would come close to $200 dollars a night).So as you can see, prices vary widely here -- it's worth shopping around a bit to find the best deals.
