You guys! Today was amazing. So amazing. Probably because I got to go see a very intimate show by Metric over at The Current (I was taking photos for the Star Tribune, which you can see here). Metric is one of my top ten bands *for sure.*In saying that, I start to wonder who else makes that cut... And then I realize they might even be in my top five. But the difference with this band is that others I see *all the time* since so many come through Minneapolis every year or so (or are from here). But I've only seen Metric live twice. Once was at First Avenue (the first time I ever saw them live and just melted all over the floor), and the second time was a private recording session that Daytrotter did at SXSW (and which I did not shoot). And then this one, which was also very small. I consider myself very, very lucky.Oh, and I have tickets to see them perform in a local theater in September. And I have SECOND ROW SEATS. I mean, you all know I go to a ton of shows, right? How often do I get this excited? Rarely. So do yourselves a favor and go listen to the new album (it's streaming free here). You can thank me later. Also today, I got to go shoot photos of a bunch of chickens! And we all know how much I love chickens! But I'm going to save those photos for tomorrow. All Tuesday has planned is nine hours in a cubicle, and I think you guys will like seeing these birds, so I'mma break the blog rules. Don't worry, you'll be happy I did.Oh! And if you want to see more Metric shots from today, they are up here. Enjoy!
