Well hello there. What a day! First off, my mom is in town. She arrived this afternoon, and I managed to take her to Punch Pizza for lunch, squeeze in a nap, followed by a few cups of coffee before dragging her to Lake Harriet to see Solid Gold perform (her first concert since the Rolling Stones a few years back) and then over to Bryant Lake Bowl for a burlesque show. Nothing like ending the evening with your mother watching women take their clothes off, eh?Anyway, I had so many photos from the day, but maybe my favorite part was at the Vita.mn music and movies tonight. The way this works is that we choose the bands, and then the bands choose the movies that screen after their performance. Solid Gold here chose Point Break. And then they arrived to the show in a giant pink limo and when they all got out they were wearing these Presidents masks! Cool, right!? Wait. Do you not get the joke? Have you not SEEN Point Break? Well what are you waiting for!? It has BOTH Patrick Swayze AND Keanu Reeves in it, so hop to it, will you? The band played their first song wearing the masks, and I thought that was great.Also? Mom loved the burlesque. She was on the edge of her seat the whole time, and it was super fun. So that was our day. Check in tomorrow to see if I can possibly top that first night in Minneapolis. Whew.
