meet connie!

post by leslie

This is Connie, and she is SO ADORABLE and sweet and quiet and perfect. She is six months old and she was found with her siblings in a pen covered in mud. She wasn't socialized well as a young pup, so she's a tad timid in new situations, but she warms up really fast.Connie is great with dogs and is playful with cats. She's a quiet pup -- not too mouthy or hyper, and she only barks when other dogs are barking. She also loves to play -- and is particularly fond of fetch and tug of war.To learn how to adopt this sweet girl, check out her adoption page here. About this projectFor the next month, I’ll feature photos on my blog, my instagram and my facebook feeds that focus on dogs who need homes. These are dogs currently in foster homes, waiting for their forever family. They are amazing pups who will melt your hearts — some are hard to adopt because they are pit bull mixes (the sweetest dogs ever who cannot help their strength) or they have lived on the streets for a long time and are covered in scars or they might be blind or deaf (or both). Some are simply hard to get adopted because they are black, which is the dumbest reason ever. But each dog that has come into my studio in the last few weeks for photos has had a warm heart and wanted nothing more than love. Wouldn’t it be great if one of you could provide that? I hope so. To see all the dogs featured so far, look here. Also, special shout out to Lucy & Co. for donating all of the amazing bandanas!

Oh this girl is a sweetie. Paisley is four years old and is super smart and super, super lovey. She is so happy around people, and she's a big fan of snuggling. She's great at going to her crate when asked and she's fine with older kids. She could be good living with a dog as well, but she would need a longer introduction just to be sure.

Her favorite hobbies (besides kisses and snuggling) include playing fetch and chewing on a bone. To read more about her or get adoption information, look over here.

This is Polar Bear and these photos do not even begin to do this girl justice. She is only 5 mos. old, and she was a stray found down south and brought up here for adoption. She has the cutest tan marbling on her ears, a spotted nose and spots on her chin. Delightful! She just arrived this week, and she'll probably go quickly because she is sweet as molasses and is quiet and charming. She loves walks and riding in the car and is generally just a wonderful find. She's another one of these pups that I would bring home immediately if my house weren't already full. If you are looking for a companion, reach out to her foster right now! You can do that here. This is Jed, and he is so much smaller than he looks in these photos! I mean, don't get me wrong, he's a strong guy. But he is such a petit dog in person! Jed is 3 and a half years old and is super duper snuggly. He loves attention, snuggling (did we mention that?) and long walks. He's also amazingly smart and well trained. He's good with dogs, cats and kids, so there's really no reason not to bring him home! And yes, his ears stay like that! One up and one down! I love it!To see his adoption information, go here.About this projectFor the next month, I’ll feature photos on my blog, my instagram and my facebook feeds that focus on dogs who need homes. oh venus!

post by leslie

Oh kids, you know I love me some BIG DOGS. And this girl qualifies! Weighing in at 120 lbs, she is the definition of a gentle giant.Venus is six years old, and she's not a big, strong, wild and crazy beast. She's a quiet girl who will walk by your side and will bond with her owner. She wants to sleep in your bed (I hope you have a King!), snuggle with you relentlessly and maybe go for a car ride. She doesn't do great with other dogs as she is very possessive of her food and her toys, so it would be great if she could be the only dog in the house. That said, she's ok with older kids. She's well trained with sit, stay, speak and is learning fetch! She's also crate trained, and her crate is included with the adoption. If you're interested in bringing her home, you can get more information over here.About this projectFor the next month, I’ll feature photos on my blog, my instagram and my facebook feeds that focus on dogs who need homes. and here's fynn

post by leslie

I photographed Fynn a few weeks ago and I've been waiting not very patiently to share him with you! He's been off the internet and unavailable for adoption until now as his fosters were waiting for a clean bill of health from the vet, and now he has it! And you guys, just LOOK AT THAT SWEET FACE!So you know how my dog Magda likes to jump up all over you all the time? Finn here likes to jump *up* but not *at* you. He appears to be coming at you, and then when he gets there, it's the most gentle, dainty tap you've ever felt. And from that moment on, I was smitten.Fynn here is 2 years old and came from Arkansas and really he just wants to keep you company and gaze at you all day long. Or maybe that's what I want him to do. Anyway, his adoption information can be found here.About this projectFor the next month, I’ll feature photos on my blog, my instagram and my facebook feeds that focus on dogs who need homes. This is Kingston and he is 2 years old. But you guys? He plays like a puppy and he is a lot of fun! He came here from Arkansas. He's super playful, loves to fetch and is getting better on a leash. He's in good health, is crate trained, does ok with other dogs as long as he has a slow intro and he's fine with kids. I mean, what a great dog! Go get this guy now!For his adoption information, go here. About this projectFor the next month, I’ll feature photos on my blog, my instagram and my facebook feeds that focus on dogs who need homes. This is Wash and OMG is he adorable! He's about six months old and he just wants to play and play and snuggle. He's house trained, he likes other dogs, he likes cats and he's a pretty easy-going guy. While he might grow up to 50 lbs or so (maybe into those adorable ears?), he'll probably always want to snuggle in your lap. Not a bad thing! For his adoption information, look here.About this projectFor the next month, I’ll feature photos on my blog, my instagram and my facebook feeds that focus on dogs who need homes.
