staying in

We decided to stay in and take it easy tonight. This was the start of dinner. I know. I'm taking pictures of my food again. Boring, yet wonderful Saturday at home.

It's a little weird sitting in a place this lovely, listening to Nirvana being piped in while you wait for Joel McHale to take the stage.

Jamie found this guy in our filing boxes today. We haven't lived anywhere with Geckos since 2003, making this a SIX YEAR OLD corpse. Gross. Yet still a little fascinating to look at. Poor guy probably froze when the boxes went from 90 degrees to -16 in two days flat.

Had a quickie photo shoot today. These are the brushes that our makeup artist brought. The amount of cosmetics and tools that she brings would make my grandma very proud.

Today I had a video training class that lasted ALL DAY LONG. For part of it we were given an assignment, and my partner and I did a bunch of interviews over at the Government Center. While on a quick break, I shot this image of the flag.

We filmed about 4 interviews and all kinds of "b-roll" shots on many levels of the g-center. But it was only when I brought out my SLR that the security cops came over to see what I was up to. They wanted to know what I was shooting for, and what the "purpose" of my photo blog was. Overall, very nice guys. But I was surprised that the video raised zero alarms and the still photo did.

I suspect it was because we were using flip cameras, and they didn't realize what we were doing. Just a theory.

Ugh. I know you are sick of pictures of the dogs. I'm almost sick of them myself! But I had to work today (a Sunday), and I didn't take my time at home to shoot. Instead... I slept. And trust me, I didn't think at ALL about crawling back into bed with the family here at 3 p.m. and calling in sick to work. NOPE. NOT. AT. ALL.
