Jamie and I took a long bike ride around the chain of lakes today, and man was it gorgeous out! We stopped above the channels on one of the bridges so I could shoot all of the canoes and kayaks below. The lakes were completely packed, and the people watching was supreme. A great end to the long weekend.
So I think I've mentioned how much I dislike gardening. The only plant that I would likely work for is my peony bushes. OK, maybe a lavender bush -- but that's it. I love clipping off the first peonies for the house in the spring. If I plant another bush, it will be for white ones.
I started this morning with a newborn shoot. Look at those toes! So cute! After the photo session I spent some time outside planning the soon-to-be garden in the front yard and then at a cookout enjoying the warm weather. Pretty good Saturday, I'd say.
Aaaaaahhhh, holiday weekend is finally here. We started things off right today by hitting up happy hour at Psycho Suzi's patio with a few friends. Nikki (who I mainly know through twitter as @formica_dinette) brought her pup along. Her dog's name is Ninja. No, I'm not kidding. Anyway, we all know how much I love shooting photos of dogs :).After drinks, we joined Stacy and Carl for the movie Hot Tub Time Machine at the cheap theater. That movie was totally worth three dollars. Very funny stuff.
Today was another 12-13 hour workday. Man, I'm exhausted. So at the end of it all I had this photo shoot, and this suit was featured. If I was 19 again, this is the suit I would buy for the summer. Hawt. And yes, I realize I am being lazy with the iPhone photo. I'll be better this weekend, I promise :)
Today was looooong. For those of you in the Twin Cities, you should pick up this week's issue of vita.mn. It's huge. Like, you might need a forklift because there are so many pages, and I was swamped all week putting it together. I am also quite fond of the illos in this week's issue, which were done by Nick Rindo. He did an amazing job.But back to the shoes. I got home from this insane week and these lovelies were waiting for me. I have the same pair in grey and wear them constantly, but wanted a black pair as backup. And? I found them on Amazon for HALF OFF. You know what's better than new shoes? New shoes that are on sale. Am I right, ladies?
Miss Margaret and I went to Target Field tonight to see the Twins play. It poured. We were "lucky" enough to have complete nosebleed seats that were covered by the lights, so we stayed bone dry, which was great because we could then shoot photos of all the rain :)We left in the middle of the 5th after 20 minutes of rain delay. I think the most exciting part of the game was either when I found out that Cameron Diaz was there at the stadium, or when a squirrel ran onto the field and no one could get him off. So yeah. Not a huge baseball fan. But still a very pleasant way to spend an evening.
It is truly amazing how much one's day can improve once you finally get the hell out of the office. I was able to make it home for the last few moments of daylight and enjoy this fantastic dinner and Strongbow (yes boys, Strongbow. Shut your traps) while sitting on the front porch. Also? I'm contributing every so often over at this other blog. So if you want the recipe to my dinner, it's there (but I added chicken tonight).
