I took some photos of the neighborhood gardens while we walked the dogs tonight. I loved these ferns. Great contrast. I was also tempted to make this a black and white. But the green was so lush...

Hey guys, meet Bodhi! Bodhi is Joey's (the chihuahua from earlier) little brother. We met Bodhi for the first time today. He was pretty darn cute. And that mama of his! What a trooper!I love how he is holding his ears in this photo. LIke, hmmm, what are these?

Today was GORGEOUS. I think it was around 78 degrees with an nice breeze. So Jamie and I headed to the lake to read and to attempt to make our skin less translucent. I shot this while lying in the grass, trying not to look at the long-haired 50-year-old in the speedo next to us. Ew.

Look at those spots on Joey's belly! How cute are they?

Today we worked a little on training Joey. Either he already knew how to rollover, or he is an amazingly fast learner. Either way, he's so fast that this was one of the very few shots that came out in focus. But man, do I love those spots.

Meet Joey! He's our friend Courtnay's pup, and we're watching him because today he became a BIG BROTHER! While his mama is welcoming her youngest son into this world, we're keeping an eye on Joey.

Today was very exciting for him. There was a giant game of chase, the plumber came to the house, there was lots of barking at the construction team at the house behind us and many escape attempts were thwarted. That's not even mentioning the pissing contest that he and Merlin are in. Literally. This little guy is keeping us on our toes for sure! But it's good to have all the young energy back in the house. I hadn't realized how calm my own pups had become!

calm before the storm

This was the scene I left this morning before work. You can see the fuzzy husband in the background, and his snuggling golden retriever.

This photo is significant because tonight we picked up Joey, the *young* dog of a dear friend who we're watching for a few days. Since we arrived back home with Joey, the house has been a blur. It is as if we have a dog park in our living room. Constant herding from Merlin, running from Joey and Memphis is just constantly begging us for attention.

Hopefully it calms down tomorrow so I can shoot some pictures of Joey for you to see. Today they were all a blur. Literally.

Caught the Conor Oberst show tonight at First Ave. This is my second night in a row of being up past 2 a.m. due to late concerts. I can already tell I will be paying for this tomorrow.

Phoenix put on a fantastic show at the Varsity Theater tonight. But damn, was it ever hot in there. I could feel the sweat dripping from my elbows the whole time I was shooting. Fun show, though.
