in bloom

Just a bit of rare color that is finally showing up around here. These blooms were in the front yard of my dear friend Connie. So Connie, if you saw some random woman laying in your front yard zooming in close at your grass/flowers, that was me!

No glass of wine was big enough to cover the day I had today. Clearly this was glass no. 2 as you can see my greasy fingerprints from the first go-round.

This was shot at Al Vento where we met friends for dinner tonight. It was delicious, but Broder's Pasta Bar is still the best Italian in Minneapolis, imo.

we do this all the time

Imagine my surprise when I found these dancers taking the elevator the EXACT same way that Jamie and I do! It's kinda embarassing when we have unexpected stops and coworkers wedge their way in, but you know. We wouldn't sacrifice anything for dance ;)In all seriousness, these folks have mad skills.

early morning

I had a rough night last night. I woke up from a "workmare" in the middle of the night to hear the dog barfing and never made it back to sleep. As I stumbled into the bathroom later in the morning, I was struck by the light (I'm not normally up that early), and I ran for the camera. I had some shots that were in focus, but I liked the blurriness of this one. It added to the early-morning feel, I thought.

This is what's left of my wedding bouquet. I dried them out, and have carried them from Kansas to California to Florida to Minnesota. Interesting how the leaves and roses all fade to the same color.

City of burly men

I have been driving past this exit for more than six years, and only today did I realize this exit is for TWO cities. Manly city and Forest City. Do all the lovley fairy women live in the forest? Bizarre, no?Until now, I pictured it as a town full of lumberjacks. No lie.

oh you turkey

We were driving down in the southern suburbs yesterday when I spotted this yard full of swans, turkeys and chickens. Random. So I went back today in the daylight to shoot some pictures. This was one of four similar turkeys roaming around in the yard. And they literally gobble. I had never heard that before.

Also? I love that fringe popping out of his chest. Interesting.
