Summers are so amazing in Minneapolis -- and not just because of the awesome weather. But, for instance, tonight there were THREE different shows that I *really* wanted to go to, plus an art opening! (I made it to the art opening and one show -- only because I had a photo shoot that cut into my evening a bit). And tomorrow is Rock the Garden, so that's a full day of music. And if you can't make it/afford that, there's the Stone Arch Festival which is FREE music all day down by the river. And then more stuff AFTER the festival. So many amazing options -- just never enough time! Yeah, life here is good. But back to tonight. Free Energy were back at the 400 Bar, and Jamie LOVES seeing these guys live (as do I), so that was a no-brainer. You guys, I think I've seen this band play... eleven times off the top of my head (and there may be more). I always think that I'll get to the show and be bored (because let's face it, I've kinda seen all their moves), but I never am. I am always highly entertained and grinning like a fool as I shoot photosAnd speaking of enjoying the show, my, my, my have the young ladies caught onto this band. It was like the Beatles! Even blatant ass-grabbing! And the swooning, wow... I think I might have taken more shots of the crowd than the band this time! Anyway, as I said, good times all around.More photos are up over here. Enjoy!
Check out the damage we did on this dinner. Nyberg and I met up tonight and I showed her around Martin Patrick 3 (again, my favorite men's store in the world) and then we mosied across the street to the Monte Carlo where we demolished our food. We were a little hungry.
Today we had a big photo shoot at work for our gay pride issue that's coming up. I can't say who was in it, but I will say that this person is headed to the White House more than once this summer. That oughta get your imagination going, eh? This job never gets boring, I tell ya.
Um, well... yeah. Today was rough. Back at work and felt like I'd been hit by a Mack truck. But the weather outside was amazing -- truly amazing. So I got home and made a delicious summer salad and we ate outside and enjoyed the rest of the sunshine. I'm either about to collapse into a coma in bed or I'm gonna start watching Breaking Bad (while I collapse into a coma on the couch). Better luck tomorrow, ay?
We got back home tonight from California, and man was Memphis glad to see her dad. Look at that happy expression with the tongue hanging out the side of her mouth like that. Cutie pie.
Isn't she adorable? And all grown up? Yeah, I am so proud of her.Today Eloise picked us up at the hotel and drove us to the farmers' market where we got food for a picnic and grabbed the rest of the family for a drive to wine country. We never head to Napa or Sonoma, but Amador County instead -- there are far fewer crowds, it's closer and you never have to pay for the tastings. We went to our favorite, Story Winery, and spent the afternoon enjoying the wines, amazing food and the viewsYou guys? I love Minneapolis. We all know this. But the California farmer's market? Yeah. It kick's Minneapolis' ass.More family shots are up over here.
Today was gorgeous. I think most of the day was spent basking in the sun and reading magazines, as every vacation day should be spent. Then this evening we went to my niece's graduation party, which was a total blast. This is my niece in the photo above, but not the niece that graduated ;) This is Emma -- and how adorable are her freckles!? And those eyes! I'm sure we'll be attending Emma's graduation in about seven yearsIf you want to see my niece that graduated yesterday, she can be spied in a few of the other shots I took over here.
