As I have told you, I headed back up to the North Shore earlier this week. It was inspiring, as always.I stayed in this amazing cabin, where I shot images for its air bnb listing (my images aren't up yet!). By the by, do you know anyone else who needs such a service? Please let me know -- it was super fun! I would especially be willing to travel for a free stay in the space!Anyway, needless to say after my shoots, I hit up several spots along Lake Superior for photos. I also met my buddy Lucy up there, and she joined me for the photography adventures. She is pictured below watching the snow fall. Yesterday, Lucy and I woke up, had coffee (deeeelish) and mosied up the shore to check out some new spots. There were 50 mph wind gusts (WOW!) which meant a) we tried our best to keep our balance and not fall into the freezing water and b) we got lots of great wave photos.The one above is my very favorite. I love the varied textures of the water -- the smooth lines on the top of the wave make me swoon. I want to blow that photo up BIG and hang it in my house. Jury is still out on if I should keep it color or make it b/w.I will surely have a larger post later this week with more shots from this amazing trip. For now, I need to finish unpacking and seriously dig into work. I owe a lot of people a lot of photos, and while these shots of my favorite place on earth are calling my name, I'm not getting paid to take them. Hey guys!I'm up on the north shore for the next day or so, and I'm staying at / photographing this *amazing* air bnb. It's right outside of Duluth, which was perfect because I had an amazing newborn shoot there this morning. And? As I type this from the couch I can see Lake Superior out the window. Or I could if it were still light out.Maybe if I wake up early tomorrow, you'll get a sunrise shot outta me, but I'm not promising anything.No internet shares today -- too pretty enjoying the real world.

What a weekend! I've been super busy with four shoots since Thursday, and I'm heading to the North Shore again this morning for two more! But all of them have super fun in each individual way.On Sunday, I photographed one family that I have been shooting for years and years and endlessly adore (photos from that session later this week, I promise!) and then I followed that session with some new clients and this six-week-old charmer. I swear, I have had some of the most amazing newborn sessions this year -- my clients are truly the best, and walking into such a new family puzzle is always such a treat. So much to laugh about and smile about. It's a great break from the day-to-day monotony.I hope you all have an amazing week ahead. I might have something special in store for you kids on Friday if all my scheming works out. I played hooky this morning and took Ezra to the zoo, and in the two hours we were there, what did we see? Penguins. Monkeys. I had a photo session with that cute one year old up there this past weekend, and watching kids realize that they are being *encouraged* to stick their hands into the cake and make a mess?
