We went to see Roma di Luna play today at casa de Cakein15. It was a lovely show -- these guys always blow me away.

Today we ran to Patina (the store that every girl loves and every man hates) to get some early Christmas shopping done. Except that whenever I go into Patina, I find great gifts for others, and a gazillion wonderful things that *I* want. This was among the first of such items. Many of you know how I have very vivid, and often violent, dreams. I picked up this book to check on the meaning of my dream earlier in the week -- the one where I was being mauled by tigers and wolves. First I looked up tiger: This yielded nothing. Next? Wolves. Do you know what this book says wolves in your dreams mean? FINANCIAL DISTRESS IS IN YOUR FUTURE.Needless to say, I decided not to spend my money on the book. And I put back a few other things as well. Frankly, I'm stunned they allow such fortunes inside Patina. Especially right at the fingertips of journalists whose place of employment announced newsroom layoffs in the next 30-60 days. We'll see if I can sleep at all tonight. (And this would make a great xmas gift for me btw. Especially since I won't be able to afford it pretty soon. HINT. HINT.)
I had lunch today at Common Roots and afterward wandered back to their garden to see if there was much left -- this was about it. But I always love this dark purple. And I like how you can see the mist on the leaves.
It was nice to be shooting in the daylight today. ISO 300 is a nice change of pace, as is shooting at a faster shutter speed. :)We took a quick work break today and ran to grab some coffee. This is Margaret's Falalatte at Caribou. Beautiful sprinkles.
A few weeks ago, my friend Kyle turned me onto Fanfarlo. And man, do I love their album. They were amazing live tonight at the Triple Rock (so many instruments! Trumpets! Violins! Clarinets!), and it was super fun to catch the opening band Freelance Whales as well. Go here for more shots.
So we all know how Memphis loves to eat letters. And magazines. And toilet paper. It's the Prednisone she's on for her tummy. But lord does it make her hungry. And now she's moved on to CDs. I suppose Miike Snow should be flattered that she chose him. It is, afterall, a great CD. Thank goodness it's backed up. And don't worry, I'm not letting her play with this. It's too sharp.
We ventured out to see Art Brut tonight, which was just what the doctor ordered after more layoff announcements today at the office. It's amazing how much better a little punk rock can make you feel. They were super fun to shoot, as you can tell. And the opener, Surfer Blood, was a great time as well.
Many of our generous friends brought wine last night, resulting in this delicious surplus. The front bottle with the orange topper is called Poppy, from Monterey, CA. I can't wait to dive into that one :)
