Today we had our holiday fashion shoot at the James Hill House in St. Paul. Everything worked out really well -- great stylists, great models, great photographer, great location. Do you see that car? That's a motherfuckin' Maserati. Yeah. You heard me. That's just a taste of how great it was.
Today I went to shoot pictures of my friends and their pups. This is Nick, who hates being photographed. Hates, hates, hates it. But I still got a few cute shots of the guy. He's a total sweetheart, especially if you're not holding a camera.
This little albino squirrel hangs out in our neighborhood. Pretty cute. I like him up against the red berries. Kinda festive. We saw him on our way home from getting Jamie some new glasses :)
The Ron turned 5 this week, so I stopped by with several bags of balloons to blow up and play with. I snapped this while he was hitting one of the balloons up in the air. It's fun to see how easily entertained kids are. There truly is no need for expensive gifts. His hands are red because he refuses to put on a coat. See? Already close to teen-ager-dom.
After work tonight I met up with Stacy and grabbed dinner before heading off to see the Fuck Buttons at the Triple Rock. They were pretty good, but I wish they had had a cool light show as well.
Today was Matt's 29th birthday! Because it's my deadline day, I was only able to stop off for one drink, but it's always so good to see him. i hope he has a fabulous year ahead of him.
I had a meeting today at the James J. Hill house in St. Paul. What an interesting mansion! Anyway, this room is above the art gallery. The floor you see there is glass, so that the gallery looks to have a normal ceiling, but is lit with natural sunlight. I would love to get a model in that room to shoot around those angles, but it's never gonna happen with a glass floor. I love the geometry here.
I framed a few of my favorite photos of the year last week. All three were concert photos. One of the people I follow on twitter counted today how many bands she has shot this year -- 167! That girl has been busy! So I thought it would be fun to count up how many bands I have shot since January. Guesses? NINETY SEVEN. Man, what a fun year.
