post by leslieOn Saturday, we time warped back to 2012 (aka, got a baby sitter) and had an amazing night that included pho for dinner from my favorite spot in town and a concert at the Turf Club. It was so fun to see old friends, eat delicious food and stay out late in the cold weather, warmed by sweaty dancing inside the venue. Plus? The musician was Caroline Rose (who I've professed my love for previously) and the show was fantastic.

Sometimes, in family shoots, especially with kids between 1 and 2 yrs old, you get the realest moments captured. And it makes me laugh every single time. A few weeks ago, we got up early and headed out into the fog to meet Lucy for family photos. You guys, have I told you how much fun it is to work with Lucy? And to have her photograph us? No internet shares today. Yes, I'm thrilled with the local election results, but the rest of the nation has me down a bit, and I just want to get back to work for the meantime. I will say that volunteering on Election Day was a rad decision, and I plan on doing each election moving forward. I highly suggest it for everyone!
Well, election day is here. It's sorta like Christmas Eve and sorta like I'm about to head in for a route canal. On the one hand, I haven't had this much hope for our nation in 730 days. On the other hand, I'm terrified not enough democrats will vote and the GOP will remain in power and we'll become an autocracy and our drinking water will be forever polluted and The Handmaid's Tale is right around the corner. Sorry, I know that's extreme, but that's where my heart is these days.Today I'll be hitting up my favorite yoga class (in an attempt to remain calm), and then I'm heading to the phone banks to make sure people voted. If you are a democrat, please head to the polls today. And if you are a republican, please don't forget to vote in the election tomorrow.Cheers.
