One of the highlights of my workday today was thumbing through this GATEWAY TO MY CHILDHOOD. Do these photos take you back to elementary school as well? No? You're younger than I am? Zip it.In case you are unaware, Madonna is coming to the Twin Cities. And you know what? My *amazing* husband got me tickets! It turns out Madonna hasn't been to the Twin Cities since oh, about 1986. And, um, the paper is kinda covering this event. Hence all the photos. My favorite Madonna was always from "Like a Prayer." Which was yours?
Today was a KILLER at the office. So I took a break and checked out a new restaurant with my buddy Horgen at lunch. This spot is fashioned after a "Czech beer hall" ... and it was ... less than authentic. But the food was OK. Actually, it was probably good, but since it's positioned right next to the most authentic and amazing polish deli in the Twin Cities, I'm gonna say it was just OK. These fries were kinda tasty though.
Look at this cutie. My cube mate, Marci, was back in the office today after taking a (presumably glorious) two week vacation for her wedding and honeymoon. She brought in these super fun props for photo booths and was going to give them away at the office, so you can bet I snatched them right up. And, uh, brought them home to test out on my pups (of course)... We got this adorable shot after Memphis gave up trying to EAT THE PROPS. Yeah. Genius dog, here.
This little girl won my heart at tonight's photo shoot. Oh, there's mud? She's gonna run into it. Dirt? She's gonna dig in it. A lake? Well, she didn't jump right in, but she pondered it. I love wild tomboys like this one here. Lots of spirit in this kid -- she'll be an amazing lady some day.
This morning I met Alice here for brunch over at Bad Waitress, and as we were leaving the light was so lovely and Alice looked so cute that I made her stop for a quick photo. :)Then I came home and worked and did laundry and took out the air conditioners and cooked an amazing beef stew. Very domestic of me, eh? Feels good every once in awhile, I must admit.
Today was the annual Zombie Pub Crawl. I don't really go on the crawl anymore, but it is fun to wander down and shoot a few portraits. This year the big festivities moved to the minor league baseball stadium in St. Paul, and you had to pay admission, so I just waited outside and shot a few zombies on their way in. I was there for only about 10 minutes while we were out running errands, and sure enough there was plenty of fun costumes. This one was one of the creepier ones (zombies involved with babies always skeeve me out), but I'll post more later. For now I'm headed out for a date with my man to (finally) catch the new Bourne movie.
Today I got to do a session with this lovely couple celebrating their five year wedding anniversary! I kind of adore these guys because I met them through Doomtree concerts! Nick here was in the front row of every single one of those shows I shot last December, so we got to know each other then. And yup, we'll be seeing each other again next week for POS. Man you guys, that show is going to be so much fun.
Today was his birthday. I got him that bangin' watch. And we had a lovely dinner. And I made him cupcakes.I'm pretty crazy about this guy.
