girls got rhythm

We ventured over to St. Paul again tonight to catch the Girls Got Rhythm festival. Ronnie Spector was headlining, and I thought it would be amazing to see her live (and it was). For those of you who don't know who Ronnie is, she was the head of The Ronettes and she sang that song "Be My Baby" from the '60s (and the Dirty Dancing soundtrack). She is 68, and she put on one hell of a show. The photo above is not of her, however. I shot this show for the paper, so they get all the Spector photos. These were the feet of one of the members of the 5.6.7.8s -- an all-female trio from Japan who came over and got all dolled up before performing. My favorite song of theirs was the cover of "Great Balls of Fire."Quite a night, eh? And the day before that was even better. Summer is tiptoeing into Minnesota, and today it was 65 and sunny and I went for two walks, a bike ride and even catnapped in the sun for a bit. Man, I'm happy for the warmth.I'll post a link to the Spector photos as soon as the paper gets them online...
