0926magssmDang this kid kills me. So first, let's just get it out in the open that I love it when dogs wear bandanas. I am not for dressing up my animals in clothes or costumes or whatever (poor things), but for some reason, I like the bandana look, and I think the red looks so nice on Mags. Plus? Hidden side effect? Something about wearing it around her neck makes her more... timid? Shy? Calm? Whatever, I'll take it.So I put this on her yesterday or the day before, and today I was in the kitchen trying yet again to snap images of birds at the bird feeder (no luck guys, sorry!), and I turned and saw her in the living room watching me just like this. Holding the bandana in her mouth. Something about this reminds me of a kid sucking his thumb -- not sure why. Anyway, I had to get the shot. The bad news was that my camera settings were (literally) for the birds, and the image came out way dark. When I fixed it in Photoshop, there was a lot of grain in the photo. So we're gonna just live with that. Also, can you guys believe how bad I suck at getting bird photos?! I had no idea it would be this hard! Ah well, I'll keep practicing. And speaking of birds and nature and such, today I posted some photos from the wedding I shot in Lake Tahoe this weekend! Go ahead and click. You know you want to see that bear that came to the lodge! Now, let's get to the internet share of the day, shall we? Today I'm sending you to Jimmy Fallon telling you a story about his ping pong match with Prince. Oh you guys, I love this so very much. I still remember, clear as yesterday, when I learned about Prince. I was nine, and my mom and her best friend and her daughter and I were driving to Kansas City for back to school shopping. This was such an exciting thing for me to do because in Kansas City they had Saks Fifth Avenue! And Banana Republic! And The Gap! And we didn't have those stores in Wichita at the time. (BTW, this might have been the trip that yielded me my very first pair of Guess jeans.) Anyway, I was in the backseat with Susan Kluge (mom's friend's daughter) who had brought her walkman and loaned me the Purple Rain tape to listen to. I just played it over and over and over the whole weekend, I loved it so much. And now, to this day, I still fantasize about seeing Prince at the local grocery store, in his heels, trying to choose his breakfast cereal. HOW AWESOME WOULD THAT BE? Anyway, you can see why this ping pong story is so great for me.
