finally eating
0430memsm.jpg

Man, we have been having a tough time with this blondie. She has started refusing to eat her food. And since we obviously spoil her rotten, we decided to switch her food (same brand, different flavor) to see if she would eat that. But because this girl has so many issues with her stomach, we have to mix the old with the new, otherwise she barfs it all back up.So we began mixing her food. And this one? She picks out the old pieces and *spits them out*. So all she's ingesting is the new stuff. And, you guessed it, she's barfing it all back up. We have tried everything to get her to eat some of the old food with the new, but she is not having it. So she's barfing up the new food, then barfing up her stomach acid because she's hungry. Are you getting the picture? There's a lot of cleanup going on around here. But today, today she looks to have *maybe* turned a corner. First off, she's stopped spending her days sleeping/moping and started looking for trouble again (and finding some) around the house. For the first time in my life, I am relieved by this. Now if she can just keep her dinner down...

Tonight we met up with friends for dinner over at Muddy Waters, and Eric and Betz brought Eero here. How cool is this kid, with his shades? Just following along with the conversation? Adorable.

nine days old

Meet Miles, he's nine days old. I've been photographing his big sister for a few years now, and today I got to shoot him and the rest of the family. This guy was an *amazing* baby to photograph in that there was a) no crying and b) no accidents (which is always appreciated, but especially during the naked photos). The rest of the day was spent watching movies, eating delicious food, treating myself to a little red wine and listening to a ton of good music. So yeah, a pretty decent Saturday.

florence

Tonight I got to shoot Florence and the Machine over at the State Theater for the Star Tribune. Since I was "officially" shooting for the paper, the images are theirs, and I can't "break" them here on my site. So you'll have to check the strib site to see my photos of the performance. However, I figured a shot of the lobby at intermission was safe for me to show here. This theater is so pretty that I thought you all might want to see that anyway. But it's not as pretty as Florence, so go look at those images, eh?

princess

Memphis here is starting to show her age in that her hip dysplacia has finally started to wear on her. She is using her hind legs less and less and she is sleeping more and more. The bad news? Sometimes you can see the poor girl's back legs tremble due to the pain, and she's not as energetic as she used to be. The good news? FINALLY no more jumping on the company.Anyway, because of this development, she can no longer hop into bed anymore. But tonight she did climb up onto her favorite chair, and that was good to see.Watching dogs age is tough.

mcdonald's tires

You guys, bikes are so much cooler now than they were when I was a kid. Or even 7 years ago when I bought my bike. Look at this! Colored tires! And so many frame options! And the seat options! I love perusing bike racks and looking at how individual they all are now. This beauty was locked up outside the J-school on campus today. Full bike racks in Minnesota? Sure sign of spring.

pucker up

Today I met up with a group of friends to celebrate my buddy Catherine's birthday. She brought Ellis along (who you've met before), and we discussed how he's a "big boy" and therefore can dress himself (notice that the shirt is on backwards -- adorable!). Anyway, after lunch I was reapplying my lipstick, because that's what I do, and he leaned in to tell his mom that he wanted some "chappy," too.Really, kid? You want some of this "chappy?" Well hellooooo photo of the day. So he let me put some on his mouth, and then I asked him to pucker up. How cute is this?

tools of torture?

Say hello to your cavity-free blogger! Woot! The dentist has never been something I've looked forward to (obviously), but today wasn't so bad. Plus, after a full day of work, I went to an awesome yoga class chalk full of some of my favorite music. It is so refreshing to find a class not full of chanting and Spearhead, but rather Bon Iver and Poliça. I'm a happy, blissed out girl today.
