breakdancing!

Meeting friends/clients down by the river to take fall photos on a glorious evening is so much fun. But it gets even better when the kids start showing off their gymnastic and breakdancing skills! I was so happy to capture these photos. I hope they make it into the wedding slideshow someday!

remembering the warmth
A boy plays with bubbles during this documentary family photo shoot in Minneapolis with Leslie Plesser of Shuttersmack.

Here is another really fun session from back when it was warm outside. Although from what I hear, we are only a few days away from a little more warmth in the tundra. I cannot wait!

What a wonderful day this was.

October catch up!
Young brothers hold hands by the Mississippi River during a documentary family photo session with Leslie Plesser of Shuttersmack Photography in Minneapolis.

I’ve had more than 40 shoots in the month of October, and to say that this fall has been busy would be an understatement.

I’ve taken on far more work than normal as I realize that after November, my workload will drop significantly as the option of outside shoots decreases. But now I’m in the home stretch, and I can tell you that I am more than ready to park it at home for awhile! Working seven days a week does not agree with my sense of calm and order.

But regardless, I also have had SO much fun seeing so many families and documenting so many wonderful kids. I’ll be sharing some of my favorites in the next few weeks, starting with this one.

hello from a stranger
Stadlman-2.jpg

Well I certainly did not intend for more than two weeks to pass between blog entries! But please know that as I squeeze in as much work as I possibly can before it gets seriously cold in Minnesota (ahem), small things like blog posts fall to the wayside.

Hopefully, next month I can get back in the groove and show you more of the work I’ve been doing and a bit more of my family shenanigans as well.

As you can see, it snowed this week. And not just a little dusting, but a FULL SEVEN INCHES! And as I am typing this, my 6 year old is begging me to head outside for a snowball fight. So in an effort to keep the kid happy and to keep a little fun in my life, I’m going to sign off for now.

Also, do you have a voting plan? Did you know you can check here to make sure your absentee ballot will count? And if there was an error and it won’t, you can still vote! So get on it!

Please enjoy these photos from a wonderful session I had this week.

What a week
LJP_7172.jpg

Well… since the last time I wrote we’ve had a broken arm after a fall from the monkey bars and a trip up north for family mini sessions. It has been a whirl wind.

First, don’t worry the kid is fine. Sure his bone broke (!!) but he’s handling it like a champ and hasn’t complained of any pain since the first x-ray a few hours after it happened. He’s mostly excited that he sports a purple cast now.

Our time up north was great but way too short. We normally go for 4 days, and this time I realized ON OUR DRIVE THERE that I had only reserved for two days. Why?? Why would I do that?!? Because I booked in early April and I thought we would, you know, have a kid IN SCHOOL. hahahahhaha, joke’s on me.

Anyway, here are a few shots from our trip this weekend. Most were taken at the Scenic Cafe (my favorite restaurant) because that’s where I am happiest. Enjoy
