Creative Memories

Post by Lucy

So along with taking photos, I also style photos! Basically that means I work with clients on set design. Over the last year, Leslie and I have worked with Creative Memories, a scrapbooking company based here in Minnesota. Leslie takes all of these beautiful photos, and I style the collections! Each month we have several shoots with CM as they have new products roll out. Each collection is based on a theme, and it's my job to prop sets that accentuate the designs. It’s always so fun to dream up little sets and then make them a reality in our studio by scouting and sourcing props. It’s even more fun to do that with the CM team, and to have Leslie there taking lovely images. These photos are then used all over - print materials, website, social media posts, etc. Below are a few of my favorites from over the last year!

meet loki

Can you even believe this puppy is 13 weeks old? He is HUGE! And so adorable! I was especially thrilled to meet him as I've never photographed a St. Bernard before, and he was so sweet and calm. Zero reaction to anything -- the mellowist, which was hilarious and unexpected. For your internet shares of the day:+ One way I might end up bankrupt.+ A Valentine's gift guide! I love these.+ Dreaming of a vacation at this hotel.

dogs and skis!

As if I needed yet another reason to love Minneapolis!Last weekend was the annual Loppet festival, and one of my favorite events is the dog skijoring races. I mean, have you ever seen so many dogs having the time of their lives? My favorite was the one that escaped its harness and then must have been captured by their owner out on the track because there's a shot of the poor guy CARRYING his dog back while skiing. Serious balance! For your internet shares:+ I want to make this for dinner. Curry ramen? Get in my mouth.+ Amazing photos of the cold.+ Pretty sure all I see here is Jaws.

P.O.S.

This weekend was packed and fun and exhausting! I'll have photos from a few of our adventures, but first up was P.O.S.'s show at First Avenue. If you've followed me for any time at all, you know I'm a huge fan of his, and this show was celebrating one of my favorite albums being 10 years old. That album was how I discovered POS, and it was really fun to hear all the songs live again.I haven't done any internet shares for a while, so here are some good ones! Enjoy!+ This made me laugh out loud as I feel like it is real life.+ How to make perfect leftover pizza!+ The best parenting advice I've heard in a long time.

baby hayes

It's back to the babies! This was one of the last shoots I had before going on vacation last week, and it was just magical. I love this family, I love the light in their home and I loved seeing the big brother, who I photographed as a newborn himself several years ago! Watching families grow is surely a big job perk of mine.
