sick pup

Memphis here has had a rough weekend. She's puked five times since 1 am on Saturday. We've got calls into the vet, but for now we're treating her with lots of belly rubs and snuggling. Poor girl.

mmm... breakfast

The perfect start to a rainy Saturday morning, eh? I rolled out of bed around 11:30 (yeah. i know.) and stumbled into the kitchen with pancakes on my mind. We didn't have any bisquick, so I looked up original recipe from the Joy of Cooking and made this batch here.I have to say, I prefer the bisquick. These weren't fluffy enough for my taste, not that I'm complaining. Also, I did not eat this entire stack. There are leftovers in the fridge :)

What a great Friday! I got to have lunch with a friend, take a 2 hour nap and meet up with Julie, Surcey and Jamie for a delicious dinner at Ngon Vietnamese Bistro. Have you eaten there yet? WHY NOT?? It is spectacular. I know, I know, it's all they way over in St. Paul. But it's worth it, trust me.After dinner we all headed over to the Turf Club for the Peter Wolf Crier (above) album-release party. You can see more photos from the show over here. It was great to see such a packed house for the show. Good times.

Today we had our swimwear photo shoot, and man was it fun. But exhausting, hot and dirty, too. I ended up putting in an extremely long day (13 hours), but now I'm home on the couch and happy. We did some pretty wild and crazy things with the hair and makeup this time around, but I think it all worked out really well. You can see for yourself next month :)

restore!
iphonesm.jpg

Shapow! Look who got a new iPhone today! Well, a refurbished one, anyway. Regardless, one that WORKS and works a hell of a lot better than that Black Jack II loaner phone I had for a few days (which will forever be referred to as the Crap Jack). When I bought my iPhone, the salesguy offered us the "black tie" protection through Best Buy. It covers your phone should it break either on its own or, you know, should you drop it. When he offered up the protection plan, Jamie looked at me, our eyes locked, and we were like, "yeeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhh.... we better get that." Cuz in case you didn't know? I'm a little bit of a clutz. And I drop things. A lot.So here we are almost a year later, and whooo-eeee am I glad I had that plan in place. They replaced my phone in about 3 days, and supplied a loaner (be it a crappy one) in the meantime. So tonight I had to restore all 32G of stuff to it. Hey, wait. Doesn't the iPhone only come as big as 32G? Why, yes. Yes it does. And yes, I'm full up. At this point, it's all about choices. And when Steve Jobs graces us with a 64G phone, WATCH OUT.** Also, please note that THIS iPhone is wearing a case. I might be a slow learner, but I do learn.

local natives

Tough decisions tonight on the local music scene. I opted for Local Natives at the 400 bar over POS/Har Mar Superstar at the Entry. I'm not sure what the scene was over at First Avenue (also home to a Korn show tonight), but it was hot as hell at the 400 Bar. I mean, who knew I would get to both see a concert AND sweat out 10 lbs? But it was worth it. These guys are fantastic live, which resulted in not only the power blowing out, but the walls were literally crumbling down (and being passed back through the crowd). Rock'n'roll. As usual, more photos are up over here. I gotta go shower now. Talk about disgusting.
