What a day! I am in DC right now on a photo assignment (!!), and I'm having a blast. Tonight, after we'd wrapped up for the day, we walked out into Old Town Alexandria and had an amazing dinner. On our way back to the hotel, I caught these delicious clouds -- so lovely. And now I'm back at the Westin about to crawl into my heavenly bed where my heavenly infant cannot wake me. Oh dear lord, I am so excited.But. In other news, it was announced today that the Star Tribune has bought City Pages and is closing down Vita.mn. This is so sad, as that was such a huge part of my career. I devoted seven years to that magazine, and I learned so much and did some of the work I am most proud of while there. I am, of course, sad about its demise. For your internet share today, how about we cheer things up with celebrity prom photos? Come on, you know you want to see what Brad Pitt, Michelle Obama and Julia Roberts wore!
I had a meeting get postponed this morning, and it opened up my day a bit -- which is amazing when the weather is like this. So what did I do with my extra time? I met my husband for lunch al fresco and then spun around Lake Harriet to see if the trees were in bloom. Yup! Aren't they lovely? If you look closely, it looks like there are specks of dust on my lens or something. You know what those tiny specks are? Bees! So I left them in the photo. This weather right here makes me want to eat ALL my meals outside. Good thing that patio is coming along! I should have more photos by the end of the week! For your internet share, here is your friendly reminder that if you think you might ever want a website in your name, you should get on that. And here is something for all you dog lovers out there.
This photo of Ezra on the tractor takes me back. When I was a kid, my grandfather would mow the lawn on a small tractor (it was a big lawn) and he tied a wagon to the back and would pull me along. I LOVED THAT. Anyway, this weekend there was a photography event at a farm just north of the city, so we all headed out.To be honest, I was hoping Ezra could see some horses or chickens, but none were to be found. However, he was totally enamored by the tractor. Such a boy.
This week also included more trips to the park to swing.
And eating out for pizza. I love how Ezra is perusing the menu here.
Car naps are pretty common for us. He even sleeps with that tongue exposed.
This was back at the farm. This is my friend Eric -- not passed out drunk in the field as it might appear, but rather risking ticks and bug bites for this amazing shot.
And here are my guys up on the farm equipment.
Magda had a bit of a rough week because her back yard has been torn to pieces as we are putting in a patio (yay!) and the fence is out and she has lost her ability to freely roam the yard hunting for bunnies. I keep trying to explain it will be back to normal soon. But she just sighs.
Yup. This is what the yard looks like now.
And here is Ezra still working on learning to crawl. If only he could figure out how to tuck those back legs for leverage. But I'm not giving him any hints. I am trying to savor these last few weeks of him being immobile.
How adorable is this girl, eh? This is Maui and she was one of *many* amazing dogs I got to photograph today at my May Day shoot over at Woof Central. Holy cow, was this fun!I have so many more images I want to show you, but I'm running late for a date out on the town with my husband. So forgive me if I make that my top priority! For your internet share, how about these photos of David Letterman as he prepares to sign off of television. Man, I loved his show so much when I was younger. Those McDonald's drive-thru skits just killed me.
