Look at all that color!I'm doing a very small renovation in the house that involves new flooring. I really, really wanted to use Marmoleum in our basement redo, but apparently if it gets too wet (from, say, a sewer backup), the floor is ruined and has to be completely redone. So I let go of my Marmoleum dreams... until now! If I had a larger space, I would be contemplating checks and stripes and designs in the floor, but this is a teeny, tiny space involving stairs. So I'm simply trying to choose a color. So many fun options!Don't worry, I'll let you know what I come up with!I only have one internet share today. One of my favorite things to do for clients is to surprise them*. In a good way, of course! One way I try to do this is to send moms a postcard of their loved ones on Mother's Day. Some of my clients have worked with me for years, and it's old hat for them. But the new ones? They send me the nicest texts when they get the cards, and I love lighting up someone's mailbox with fun snail mail! It's the best.Also? I love laying down all the cards before I send them out and just taking in all that work from the last year. I'm not sure there's a better way to start the week. This little guy (and his amazingly big and adorable eyes) came to the studio for his birthday yesterday. We took many photos like this, and then he stripped down to his diaper and dove into his very first cake. Oh man, did we have a good time. So how is the family? Well... we're busy! The weather has finally warmed back up to the 60s so both Ezra and Magda are thrilled to be back outside. However, Ezra learned two new (and very important) words this week. Those words were "no" and "mine." So yeah, we've had a few challenges. Yes he has a crusty nose. It's part of parenthood. I clean it up before we leave the house, but not before 8 am. Sorry.
We also met a bunch of friends at a new park this weekend, and not only did Ezra tackle some newer, bigger, faster slides, but he also tried out this standing teeter-totter thing. Pretty rad.
And then he passed out cold on the way home from all the excitement.
One afternoon, we walked up to the nursery to get some plants for the front porch. Wagon rides are still a huge hit with this little man.
