02smI had another wonderful wedding last weekend over at the Como Conservatory. I had shot weddings there before -- so lovely! -- but I had never been at a reception there. Quite a lovely space! Anyway, that up there is just one sneak peek image -- it will probably be a week or so before I can pull together a full take.As it sounds, things around HQ are super busy this week as I'm wrapping up a bunch of work (so! many! cats!), preparing birthday gifts (my man celebrates another year this weekend!) and packing the whole family up for a long weekend in Ohio with friends. I am beyond excited for the short vacation, but there's a lot to get done before we step onto that plane. Not to worry though. I'm sure flying with a wiggly toddler will be perfectly enjoyable (cough, cough). And today on the internet I found...These shoes which I adore because since I tore my calf muscle last spring, heels are not really working in my favor anymore.Wonderful, free fonts? Don't mind if I do, thanks. And millions of people who say they love connecting on Facebook, but have never been on the internet. Oh yeah.

1007ArchersmFrom dogs to cats, eh?Today I photographed three cats (not at the same location), and this guy here was hilarious. This was the very first frame because this was the look I got the first time he heard my shutter click. Too funny! I love that expression.Maybe later, I'll do a full cat post so you can see my favorite images of the felines (since I'm so obviously pro-dog over here), but I'll need to wait for client approval on that one.For your internet share of the day, I have a few. First: Sherlock. Benedict Cumberbatch. Need I say more? Second, another reason being happy is more important than being successful. And third, Jack White went to his neighborhood potluck. Oh, how I love stories like this.

the ever adorable huck

01wI got up super early yesterday morning and met this boy up here (and his mom) out in "the country" for a photo session. It was about the best start to a Monday I could have asked for! What a cutie! We had fields and fields of wild flowers and trails through the woods and all kinds of pretty spots to choose from. And photographing happy dogs romping leash-free in the wilderness is THE BEST.Besides that, I've been working a ton except for this morning when I took a break to go to the doctor for my annual checkup. Poked, prodded and now flu-vaccinated, I'm back at it (a little tender in the arm though).02wFor your internet share of the day, I'll be thinking about this interview with a woman who married for money for a long, long time. And these photos are some of the best I have *ever* seen. The first, of a tornado, made me gasp. But make sure you get down to the baby whale as well...

monday at the madhouse // teeth!
01sm7.jpg

01smSee those nubs in his mouth up there? Those are The Kid's first teeth. And man, have they made this week painful. The poor guy not only got his first teeth, but he also switched into the Toddler Classroom, which means he's down to one nap a day (which means he is exhausted and c.r.a.n.k.y. when he gets home). But we're working through all of this, and we're hoping that in a few days we'll be back to normal. But because of the said exhaustion and my extended workload, there are only photos of Ez from Sunday this week. We tried to make it count. Enjoy!02smWe began the day with a trip to Ikea, where we rewarded Ez with an ice cream cone (his first!) at the end of the journey. Man, that was a HIT. Except he didn't really know how to eat it and tried to, um, suck the ice cream cone. No comment. Why is the photo from the end of the cone? Because I was the one feeding it to him, and at the end switched off for the photo. Sometimes, it's more fun to be in on the action than documenting it. Forgive me.03smLater, we checked out a new playground where we randomly bumped into our buddies Eero, Betz and Eric. They live on the other side of town, so it was super fun to see them out of the blue. We spent part of our visit trying to convince them to move closer to us, and the other part of the visit Ezra tried on Eric's hat. It *almost* fits.04smWe also took Ez to see the ducks. This was fascinating to him, and a beautiful day to do it.And that's it! Sorry for the brevity. Please send Ezra all of your "painless teething" prayers. He needs 'em.

angry kitty (not really)

debbiesmThis morning was one of my few cat shoots of the year, and I had so much fun! This little lady was actually far friendlier than she appears in the photo, but I got lots of expressions during the shoot. This picture was one of my favorites. Then tonight, Jamie and I went to the Twins game, which was super fun! It was my only game this season, and we were gifted tickets in the hoity toity Legends Club section of the stadium. It was so fancy! (And fun!). I highly suggest it (especially if the tickets are freebies). For your internet share of the day, how about this trailer for the new X-Files on TV! Doesn't Mulder look different?!

product
1001teethsm.jpg

1001teethsmToday I was doing a few last-minute product shots for that toothbrush project I mentioned earlier this summer, and these items were sitting on the staging table all pretty like, so I snapped this.Since the teaser website is up, I guess I can send you to that. But I'll be sending you there again when the whole shebang goes live and you can see tons of pretty photos of supplies and adorable kids brushing their teeth! For your internet share of the day, this couple sent a bill to their wedding guests who didn't come to the event. You better believe I laughed at this (and was glad they weren't one of my clients!).
