the garage
Sunday night, I taught a concert photography class to ... teenagers? I didn't ask their ages. I would guess the class ages ranged from 17-20, but now that I'm so ancient, I could totally be off.Anyway, I taught the course over at The Garage, which is this awesome space for underage kids to see shows. There were four bands that night (The Everyday Characters, Unturned, The Frights and SWMRS). No, I hadn't heard of any of them before, although I did know that SWMRS had Billie Joe Armstrong's kid in the band. And The Frights surprised me with covers of Paradise City and some Weezer. They probably love that "classic rock."But, you know me! I love teaching others how to take better photos and share any tips or tricks I might have. So this was a lot of fun. While the bands were on stage, I shot some photos, troubleshot camera issues with some of the students, and did critiques. So these are just a few images I captured between that. For your internet share of the day, I'm enjoying the new Underworld album while I work this week. I also loved reading these quotes (at the bottom) about surprising things American moms learned while parenting abroad.
