A few weeks back I shot my last wedding of the year, and it was fantastic. It was a super mellow couple who had a fantastic day in a gorgeous location surrounded by people that made them laugh to the point of tears. And hooo boy did they have a great dance floor party going! Here are some of my favorite images from their day. Enjoy. Oh! And as usual, the fabulous Lucy was my second shooter. I seriously could not do this job as well without her at my side.

Look who made it out to a show last night! Man, it has been a while (May, I think?). Anyway, last night I saw K Flay last night. She is one of the artists that I saw at SXSW back in ... 2012 maybe? 2013? A long time ago. And I still remember the energy she brought to the short set back then, and I thought at that performance that I should see her in Minneapolis some time. And last night was finally the time! For your internet share of the day, let's all move to the mountains of Italy, eh? THEY WILL PAY US TO DO IT!

oh hello there!

Sometimes, particularly with kids around 1 year old, I get the *most* fantastic expressions! Like the one above.Oh, how I love these photos! I know they aren't exactly what the parents are looking for when they hire me, but I try to include the more "regular" images as well (as seen below). But these shots? These are among my favorites!

happy birthday, my love

Look who is five!I need to be honest and tell you that photo up top is from earlier this summer, but I found it on my computer today and had forgotten all about it and I LOVE IT SO HARD. I hope he uses this image for an album cover some day.Anyway, we had an amazingly fun-filled weekend. We hit up neighborhood festivals, we went to the library, we had a birthday party, we played mini golf, we watched Star Wars (again!), we went to a neighborhood festival that featured FOUR bounce houses, we played on the playground and ate ice cream and milk shakes and oh wow am I tired! But this morning we got up early for doughnuts (as seen below) before heading into school for his classroom celebration (seen at the bottom). And tonight there will be presents and cake and ice cream and playing with new toys, and wow am I ready for a nap! But for real, it's good to be on this side of 5. Now if I could just freeze time here forever, that would be magic.

thirteen!

This girl and these dogs ALL turned 13 this summer! To celebrate, their amazing mom hired me to document everyone entering teenagerland. How sweet are these moments? What loves.

watching them grow up

Oh these two. I've been photographing these siblings several times a year since each of them was born, and spending time with them at each shoot is such a treasure! I have seen tantrums and tears along with laughter, joy and wonder. And this time? This time I saw humor and a budding friendship that caught my heart.I am so lucky that this family continues to bring me back again and again. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do.

Last wedding of the year!

post by Leslie

This past weekend I shot my last wedding of the year (huzzah!), and it was a really fun one! See that dog and bride up there? Can I get more of that pretty please? Many photographers are in the height of weddings right now (such gorgeous weather here), but since I much prefer documenting all the babies and all the families, I'm pleased as punch that I am now moving on to babies dogs and kiddos! Now for your internet shares of the day:+ Yet another reason Trader Joe's is the goddamn best.+ What women couldn't do in in the US 1971. Fall Family Photos

Post by Lucy

Fall family sessions are in full swing now, and it is always *so* much fun to re-connect with clients each year! This is my second year working with the little guy pictured above, and his wonderful parents. For this year's session we stopped into the studio to play around  - Calvin showed off his balancing skills, we played with bubbles, he and his pup posed - and then we made our way across the street to Loring Park for a few shots outside. If you are still looking to book a session this year, I have a few weekend spots still available. But, things are filling quickly so please reach out soon so we can work together!
